About the event
Queer Roots is a joyful, safe, and inclusive foraging walk designed especially for LGBTQIA+ folk (and allies by invite). Set along the breathtaking wild edges of our coast and countryside, this 3-hour experience offers a blend of wild food discovery, nature connection, and identity celebration. Led by forager and wild food chef Vix Ryder, this walk creates a space for individuals to reclaim natural spaces, share stories, and root down into the land – together.
Nature belongs to everyone. But many queer people have felt unwelcome or invisible in outdoor spaces. Queer Roots is a reclamation – a return to the wild on our own terms. It’s a space to be fully ourselves while exploring the edges – of the land, of identity, of possibility.
Walk Highlights:
• Wild plant ID with a queer lens: exploring the resilience, adaptability, and transformation of plants
• Inclusive foraging ethics: consent, access, and mutual care…
